Chuck Palahniuk's ironical novel Fight Club was authored in 1996 and brought to theaters in 1999, obtaining most of its publicity. The story goes around an anonymous male protagonist who has been described both as "a celebration of violence" and "macho porn" (Ebert), as well as an "uncompromising American classic" (Travers). The narrator of the book is an average man who is stultified of his occupation and has lost the will to live. He meets a man named Tyler Durden and the two start what they call fight clubs where men meet and fight. This initiative develops into "Project Mayhem", whose goal is anti-consumerist, to find a purpose in the life of men like the narrator, by resorting to violence, murder and bombardments. As it comes out later in the story, Tyler Durden is actually the narrator's alter ego and a hallucination of his own, revealing that they are one and the same. As Project Mayhem progresses, the narrator gets more and more cramped with his course of action, but gets caught up in the rules Tyler Durden set for the project. So he struggles to stop the project and he is also caught up in his mind and unable to escape his alter ego Tyler Durden, whose appearance is beyond the narrator's control. This complex relationship and the consequent moral dilemmas in a political and ideological context of anti-consumerist and individualistic beliefs constitute an interesting subject of character analysis. This thesis is concerned with the ways trauma and violence are represented in the Fight Club novel and movie. The theoretical part of this thesis provides an introduction to the Fight Club novel, its author and the Fight Club movie. Next mental disorders including trauma and violence are explained.

رمان کنایه آمیزباشگاه مشت زنی اثر چاک پالانیوک در سال 1996 تألیف شد و در سال 1999 به سینماها آمد و بیشتر محبوبیت خود را به دست آورد .داستان پیرامون قهرمان اصلی داستان مردی ناشناس است که هم به عنوان" جشن خشونت "و" پورنو ماچو) "ایبرت (و هم به عنوان" کلاسیک سازش ناپذیر آمریکایی) "تراورس (توصیف شده است .راوی کتاب مرد متوسط قدی است که انگیزه خود را در شغل و اراده زندگی را از دست داده است .او با شخصی به نام تایلر دردن ملاقات می کند و این دو باشگاههایی را که آنها باشگاههای جنگی می نامند ، جایی که مردان با یکدیگر ملاقات می کنند و می جنگند ، شروع می کنند .این ابتکار به" پروژه ضرب وشتم "تبدیل می شود ، هدف آن ضد مصرف گرایی است ، تا با توسل به خشونت ، قتل و بمباران ، هدفی را در زندگی مردانی مانند راوی پیدا کند .همانطور که بعدا در داستان ظاهر می شود ، تایلر دوردن در واقع خود دیگر راوی است و یک توهم از خودش است ، و نشان می دهد که آنها یکسان هستند .با پیشرفت پروژه ضرب و شتم ، راوی با اقدامات خود بیشتر و بیشتر دچار تنگنا می شود ، اما درگیر قوانینی می شود که تایلر دوردن برای این پروژه وضع کرده است .بنابراین او تلاش می کند تا پروژه را متوقف کند و همچنین ذهن او درگیر خود دیگر یعنی تایر دردن است و قادر به فرار از تغییر شکل دهنده خود نیست ، ظاهری که خارج از کنترل راوی است .این رابطه پیچیده و معضلات اخلاقی متعاقب آن در یک زمینه سیاسی و ایدئولوژیکی از اعتقادات ضد مصرف گرایی و فردگرایی موضوع جالبی از تحلیل شخصیت را تشکیل می دهد .این پایان نامه مربوط به شیوه های نمایانگر تروما و خشونت در رمان و فیلم باشگاه مشت زنی است .قسمت نظری این پایان نامه مقدمه ای بر رمانباشگاه مشت زنی ، نویسنده آن و فیلم اقتباس شده آن است .اختلالات روانی بعدی شامل تروما و خشونت توضیح داده می شود
