Halliday's Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL) has stood the test of time as a model of text analysis. The present literature contains some studies that while taking the 'clause' as the unit of analysis have put into investigation the metafunctions in research articles (RAs) of a single field of study or those of various fields in comparison (Williams, 2006; Dur?n, 2012; Lorفs, 2004; Mart?nez, 2003). Although 'clause complex' is another unit of SF analysis, by far there has been only one study on RAs where it was the unit of analysis (Sellami Baklouti, 2011). Therefore, the purpose of this thesis was to put into analysis the 'taxis', 'expansion', and 'projection' deployed in quantitative and qualitative Applied Linguistics RA abstracts (RAAs) and RA discussions (RADs) by native (N) and non-native (NN) writers. To this end, 40 Applied Linguistics RAs (20 by N English writers and 20 by NN English writers on the sub-fields of Discourse Analysis and Language Assessment) were analyzed according to Halliday & Matthiessen's (2013) 'clause complex' framework. The results indicated that concerning quantitative RAAs and RADs there was a significant difference in the use of 'projection' by Ns and NNs. The findings also showed what types of 'taxis', 'expansion', and 'projection' were deployed by Ns and NNs in their quantitative and qualitative RAAs and RADs. The teachers, university students, translators, and editors of Applied Linguistics could benefit from the outcomes of this thesis in order to produce not only genre but par-genre appropriate sentences.

زبان شناسی نقش گرای نظام مند که توسط هلیدی بیان شده است از معروف ترین مدل های تحلیل متن محسوب می شود .ادبیات حاضر شامل مقالات پژوهشی متعددی است که با در نظرگرفتن جمله (clause) به عنوان واحد تحلیل، به بررسی فرانقش ها در مقالات پژوهشی یک رشته و یا چند رشته در مقایسه با هم پرداخته اند ) دوران،2012 لورز،2004 مارتینز،2003 ویلیامز، .2006)اگرچه جمله مرکب (clause complex) نیز به عنوان واحد دیگری از تحلیل در زبان شناسی نقش گرای نظام مند بیان شده است، تاکنون یک مقاله به بررسی جملات مرکب مقالات پژوهشی پرداخته است) سلامی بکلوتی، .2011) بنابراین، هدف از این پایان نامه بررسی میزان وابستگی(taxis) ، تفصیل (expansion) و نقل قول (projection) در قسمت های چکیده و بحث مقالات پژوهشی کمی و کیفی زبان شناسی کاربردی توسط نویسندگان انگلیسی و غیر انگلیسی زبان است .بدین منظور، 40 مقاله پژوهشی (20 مقاله توسط نویسندگان انگلیسی زبان و 20 مقاله توسط نویسندگان غیر انگلیسی زبان در دو زیرشاخه ی تجزیه و تحلیل کلام و ارزیابی زبان (بر اساس چارچوب جمله ی مرکب هلیدی و ماتیسون (2013) بررسی شدند .نتایج نشان داد که در قسمت چکیده و بحث مقالات کمی تفاوت معنی داری از نظر استفاده از نقل قول در بین نویسندگان انگلیسی و غیر انگلیسی زبان وجود دارد .یافته های این تحقیق همچنین نشان داد که نویسندگان انگلیسی و غیر انگلیسی زبان در نوشتن قسمت های چکیده و بحث مقالات پژوهشی کمی و کیفی خود از کدام نوع از میزان وابستگی، تفصیل ونقل قول بیشتر بهره برده اند .معلمین ، دانشجویان ، مترجمان و ویراستاران در حوزه ی زبان شناسی کاربردی می توانند از نتایج این پایان نامه در ساختن جملات مناسب با نه تنها ژانر بلکه قسمت های مختلف تشکیل دهنده ی ژانر بهره مند شوند
