The masculine and the female one are two principles and two sub-genera of mankind, but as of the appearance of the first men on the ground, one noted the conflict between the two sub-genera of mankind, it be-with saying between the masculine and the female one in the evaluation of their forces and their identities as well as their properties. The man often tried to be presented in the form of a superior with regard to the woman. This problem developpe more and more since the centuries and penetrates in the literary field. The woman takes a particular importance in the French literature and draws the attention of the writers especially that of Victor Hugo and Emile Zola, two great writers of the XIXسme French century. This time it is the golden age of the myths of the femme fatale and ideal, this is why they treat in their works two women, Fantine and Nana one like an ideal woman and the other like a femme fatale. They describe and present by this manner the social truth in its nudity and denounce the scandals of the company boldly. In fact Hugo and Zola present Fantine and Nana like the symbols of the female situation at the XIXغme French century and presents one like humanistic and the other like moralist..
