SUMMARY OR ABSTRACT
Text of Note

Ni-Co-Si3N4 nanocomposite coatings have many advantages over conventional coatings such as higher corrosion resistance, higher hardness and lower coefficient of friction, as well as unique electrical, optical and photocatalytic properties as well as high temperature. In this research, Ni-Co-Si3N4 coatings were created by electrically depositing in the Watts bath with a temperature of about 45 degrees Celsius and a pH of 4.5 and under different conditions in terms of current density (2-8 A / dm2) and nanoparticle concentration in the bath (0-30 gr / L). ). In this way, nickel-cobalt alloy coating was applied on the substrate at a current of 2-8 A/dm2, then a hardness test was taken from the produced coating, and the current density of the best sample , which gave the highest hardness value in terms of Vickers, was selected as the optimal current and with that current density (A/dm24) the composite coating was applied on the substrate. Then the surface morphology and chemical composition of the coatings were studied using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray energy dispersive (EDS) and grain size by X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern. The hardness of the coatings was assessed by Vickers microhardness (HV) method and their corrosion resistance was evaluated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) techniques in 3.5 wt% NaCl solution. The results showed that in the conditions of current density A / dm24 and in the bath with a concentration of 5 gr / L, the highest hardness (674 HV) and corrosion resistance are obtained
