.Noise properties of optical signal due to photonic devices, semiconductor amplifiers and wavelength converters has been interesting studies subject in recent years. Practical applications has been in optical communication mostly where details understanding of noise properties is necessary for optimization performance of optical communication systems. In this thesis it investigated Noise Reduction Methods in Quantum Dot Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers (QD-SOAs) using theoretical methods. For this purpose, At first we investigate the types of semiconductor optical amplifiers and then we study QD-SOA and equation of semiconductor carriers rate and optical signal propagation also it used numerical method of finite differences for carriers rate solution and signal propagation.In the following, we mention the existing noises in amplifier like amplified spontaneous emission and phase noise. Exclusive features of QD-SOA, low gain recovery time in compared with other SOAs. In addition, reduction of signal amplitude noise using property of amplifier high nonlinearities, other methods in reduction of amplitude noise and phase noise existing in system is injection of light beam into the device. It causes the carriers fast recovery and gain saturation, so results shows injection of light beam in higher powers suppress amplitude noise and reduces phase noise significantly
