خانواده Scathophagidae، یکی از خانواده¬های کوچک دوبالان است که اغلب به عنوان مگس‌های سرگین شناخته می¬شوند، اگرچه این نام به جز چند گونه از جنسScathophaga Meigen, 1803 که مراحل لاروی خود را در روده حیوانات اهلی می¬گذرانند، مناسب نیست. در سراسر جهان ، از این خانواده حدود 500 گونه توصیف شده در 66 جنس قرار گرفته است. از نظر زیست¬شناسی، مگس‌های بالغ شکارگر بوده و همچنین در گرده افشانی گیاهان نقش به سزایی دارند. زیست¬شناسی لارو‌های این خانواده کاملا متنوع است، بیشتر لاروها گیاه¬خوار هستند و از ساقه یا کپسول¬های بذر گیاهان تغذیه می‌کنند. همچنین بعضی از لاروها پسماندخوار و یا گوشت¬خوار (شکارچیان آبزیان و لاروهای سایر حشرات) می¬باشند و بنابراین، حشرات کامل و لارو این خانواده برای کنترل بیولوژیکی مفید هستند. بخشی از سر در پشت و مایل به زیر چشم با تعدادی موی بلند، کم پشت و نازک می¬باشد که از ویژگی‌های مهم جهت تفکیک گونه‌های خواهری این خانواده می‌باشد. در این تحقیق به¬منظور بررسي فون مگس‌هاي سرگین منطقه ارسباران، ارشدچمن، چیچکلی، کندوان، در استان آذربایجان¬شرقی و خوی در استان آذربایجان¬غربی، از اوایل اردیبهشت ماه تا اواخر تیر ماه سال¬هاي 1398-1397، نمونه‌هاي بالغ اين حشرات در طول روز، با استفاده از تور حشره‌گيری استاندارد جمع‌آوری و پس از انتقال به آزمايشگاه، با استفاده از كليدهاي معتبر موجود، شناسايی گردید. در مجموع 9 گونه متعلق به 3 جنس شناسایی شدند كه ¬از این تعداد، 3 گونه برای اولین¬بار از ایران گزارش می¬شوند که با علامت * مشخص شده¬ است. لیست گونه¬های مورد مطالعه به شرح زیر می‌باشد: 1. Scathophaga lutaria (Fabricius, 1794) 2. Scathophaga stercoraria (Linnaeus, 1758)3. Scathophaga taeniopa (Rondani, 1867)4. Scathophaga inquinta (Meigen, 1826)*5. Abstract: The family Scathophagidae is one of the tiny families of the Diptera that are usually known as dung flies. Althogh this name isn't acceptable for some species of the genus Scathophaga Meigen, 1803, that spend their larval stages within the intestines of domestic animals. Around the world, concerning five hundred species described belonged into 66 genera. Biologically, adults are predators additionally as pollinators. The biology of the larvae of this family is sort of diverse, most of the larvae are herbivores, including feeding on plant stems or seed capsules, furthermore as some larvae are saprophagous or carnivores (predators of aquatic animals and different insect larvae). Therefore, they should be helpful agents for biological control. The cephalic area behind and nearly beneath the coumpond eyes with variety of long, tiny and skinny hairs, that is one among the necessary characters to differentiate the sibiling species of this family. In order to faunistic study of Scathophagidae at Arasbaran, Arshad Chaman, Chichekli, Kandovan, Khoy regions in East and West Azerbaijan provinces, the specimens were collected using standard entomological net from the beginning of May up to the end of July during 2018- 2020. The materials were identified using valid keys. In this study, 9 species belonging to 3 genera were identified which among them, 3 species are reporting newly from Iran which marked with an asterisk.
