ناتوانایی های یادگیری، یکی از بزرگترین و جنجال برانگیزترین مقوله های آموزش وپرورش استثنایی می باشد .اختلال در یادگیری از میزان شیوع بالایی برخوردار می باشد تا بحال پژوهش های زیادی به بررسی اثربخشی مداخلات درمانی متعددی در این کودکان پرداخته اند یکی از این مداخلات آموزشی توانمندسازی شناختی است که در این روش عملکردهای شناختی مغز که شامل) توجه و تمرکز، حافظه، زمان واکنش، استدلال، حل مسئله، (... مورد تقویت قرار می گیرند در این راستا، این تحقیق به منظور تعیین اثربخشی توانمندسازی شناختی بر روی عملکردهای شناختی) توجه، حافظه، حل مسئله، حساب (کودکان ناتوان در یادگیری انجام شده است .طرح تحقیق مورد نظر از نوع تحقیقات نیمه آزمایشی) پیش آزمون و پس آزمون با گروه کنترل (می باشد در این تحقیق ‮‭۳۰‬ نفر از دانش آموزان دچار اختلال یادگیری که در مراکز توان بخشی ناتوانایی های یادگیری در سال تحصیلی‮‭۹۱ - ۹۲‬در شهرستان ارومیه در حال تحصیل بودند انتخاب شدند و بعد به دو گروه آزمایش و کنترل تقسیم شدند که در ابتدا از هر دو گروه پیش آزمون گرفته شد سپس گروه آزمایش برای یک دوره ‮‭۳۰‬ روزه با ابزار رایانه ای توانمند سازی شناختی مورد تمرین و آموزش قرار گرفتند و بعدا از هر دو گروه پس آزمون گرفته شد .در این تحقیق برای تحلیل داده ها علاوه بر آمار توصیفی از تحلیل کوواریانس یک طرفه ‮‭(ANCOVA)‬ استفاده می شود .نتایج نشان داده است که شیوه توانمندسازی شناختی بر روی عملکردهای توجه، حافظه، حل مسئله و حساب کودکان تاثیر مثبتی داشته است .با توجه به نتایج بدست آمده از این تحقیق می توان گفت که شیوه توانمند سازی شناختی روش موثری است که می تواند در کنار روشهای معمولی که برای آموزش به این کودکان استفاده می شود، مورد استفاده قرار گیرد
