یکی از مسائل مهمی که مورد توجه اغلب شاعران دورههای اخیر قرار گرفته بازخوانیشخصیتهای اسطورهای، تاریخی و دینی در آثار ایشان است. اقبال الهوری شاعر، اندیشمند وفیلسوف بزرگ اهل پاکستان است که به زبان فارسی نیز شعر سروده است. با آنکه او سالیانمتمادی در جوامع شرق و غرب به مطالعه و تحقیق پرداخته لیکن تنها راه رهایی جامعه شرقی بهویژه مسلمانان را بازگشت به خویشتن اسالمی اعم از جنبههای فردی و جمعی آن میداند. دیننجات بخش از نظر اقبال اسالم است که با عمل به آن انسان به ساحل نجات راه مییابد. شخصیت-های اسطورهای، تاریخی و دینی به گونههای مختلف مورد توجه اقبال بوده و نام، اندیشه و رفتارآنها دستمایه شعر او میشود، شناخت و تحلیل ابعادی از اندیشهها و عقاید اقبال از رهگذر بررسیو تحلیل شیوه به کارگیری این شخصیتها در شعر او ممکن میشود. شخصیتها نمونههایبرجسته برای بیان مفاهیم و اندیشهها هستند. لذا بررسی جایگاه شخصیتها و نوع تلقی شاعر ازآنها امکان شناخت افکار و عقاید او را برای ما فراهم میسازد. نوشتار حاضر بر آن است تا ضمنمعرفی اجمالی شخصیّت و افکار اقبال الهوری به واکاوی شخصیتهای اسطورهای، تاریخی و دینیدر دیوان ایشان با ارائه شاهد مثالهایی از اشعار فارسی او بپردازد. در پایان خواهیم دید، اقبالمتعلق به منطقه جغرافیایی خاصی نبود، بلکه متعلق به مشرق زمین بود و میخواست مردمان آنرا از غفلت بیدار کند، او مسلمانان را از تفرقه و اختالف برحذر میداشت و به اتّحاد دعوت میکرد.او تأکید داشت که وطن مشترک همه مسلمانان ایمان و توحید است و برادری و همدلی از تعالیمآسمانی اسالم است.

One of the important issues that has been considered by most poets of recenttimes is the re-reading of mythological, historical and religious persona in theirworks. Iqbal Lahori is a great Pakistani poet, thinker and philosopher who has alsowritten poetry in Persian. Although he has studied and researched in Eastern andWestern societies for many years, he believes that the only way to liberateEastern society, especially Muslims, is to return to the Islamic self, both in itsindividual and collective aspects. Religion is the savior according to Iqbal Islam, bypracticing it, man will reach the shore of salvation. Mythical, historical andreligious characters are considered by Iqbal in different ways and their names,thoughts and behaviors become the basis of his poetry. It is possible to use thesecharacters in his poetry. Characters are great examples for expressing conceptsand ideas. Therefore, examining the position of the characters and the poet'sperception of them allows us to know his thoughts and ideas. The present articleintends to briefly introduce the character and thoughts of Iqbal Lahori and toanalyze the mythical, historical and religious figures in his divan by providingevidence of examples of his Persian poems. In the end, we will see that Iqbal didnot belong to a specific geographical area, but to the Orient, and he wanted toawaken its people from neglect, he warned Muslims against division and discord,and invited them to unite. He emphasized that the common homeland of allMuslims is faith and monotheism, and that brotherhood and empathy are amongthe divine teachings of Islam
