Today there are different methods for treatment of water and wastewater. Also we have different units in a Treatment plants according to the used process. But some of the treatment units would be used similarly in all treatment processes. One of the most important of the said units in most of Treatment plants is sedimentation tanks. It is one of the most parts of any Treatment plants. It is in a way that its correct function or lack of it may have a direct effect on other units of treatment room. Sedimentation in water & wastewater treatment is considered as a mechanical/physical process. Therefore it is applicable for removing of sands and small particles in primary sedimentation tanks, deleting biological flocks in sedimentation tanks after active sludge process and also removing the chemical flocks when it is used from coagulant materials for treatment of water and wastewater
