Quaternary ammonium compounds are important class of chemicals, which have been utilized in numerous applications. and also their importance increased every day and they attended more recently so we made the goal of our research, synthesis of new ionic liquids in the basis of imidazolium and different derivatives of 4-pyrone. Thus we synthesized two different derivatives of 4-pyrone and then 2,6- Bis(4-bromomethy lphenyl)-6-phenyl-4H-pyrane-4-one,2-Bromomethyl-6-phenyl-4H-pyrane-4-one and cholorated kojic acid . Treatment of benzimidazole with compound (7) in dry tetrahyd-rofuran in the presence of sodium hydrid, afforded the 2,6-Bis(4-benzimidazole-1-yle-methylphenyl)-4H-pyrane-4-one (11) in 90 yields. Treatment of this compound with three different alkylhalide and Treatment of compounds (7) and (8) with three synthesized N-alkylbenzimidazole in dry acetonitril as solvent under argon condition produced Nine new salts in 74-92 yields.Treatment of benzimidazole with 2-Bromomethyl-6-phenyl-4H-pyrane-4-one (11) in dry tetrahydrofuran in the presence of sodium hydrid, afforded the 2-[(benzimidazol-1-yl) methyl]-6-phenyl 4H-pyrane-4-one in 60 yields.
