SUMMARY OR ABSTRACT

Text of Note
#The human infant is born in a helpless and dependent state which means that the human infant's phisical and psychological progress is directly related to higher supportive caretakers, that he has fewer genetically determined patterns of behavior. Maltreatment or a destructive reaction toward a child's wants and needs profoundly affects the child at this crucial developmental period of life. The mother, then, is the personification of asbsolute satisfaction. The major purpose of this study was to identify what attitudes mothers in Tehran hold toward child-rearing practices and to determine to what extent these attitudes are related to marriage conflict, childhood experiences, marriage status of parents, and the age factor. Eighty female Tehran served as subjects for the study.
