SUMMARY OR ABSTRACT
Text of Note
The purpose of this study is to compare the social competence of home-reared and orphanage-reared children. Two hypotheses are tested. The first says orphanage children, compared to home-reared children would show lower social competence, as measured by the Vineland Social Maturity Scale. The second predicts that differences in social competence between the two groups would increase as duration of orphanage stay increased.
