C were investigated, which results in an increase in the DC conductivity with increasing temperature and confirms the semiconductor property of the glasses. The electrical band gap was also calculated. In addition, thin films were used for ultraviolet-visible and infrared spectroscopy. Optical band gap and Urbach energy of the samples were obtained from the analyses of the UV spectroscopy. With the gradual replacement of potassium oxide with sodium oxide, in the composition of the samples, nonlinear changes occurred in many of the calculated parameters such as electrical conductivity, optical band gap, Urbach energy, density and molar volume, which confirmed existence of mixed alkali effect in samples ░ C to 115 ░ The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the structure, changes in optical and electronic band gap, and electrical conductivity of a glass system consist of 40 P2O5-10V2O5- (50-X) Na2O-X K2O ,5
