Inshāʾ Allāh Khān , whose pen name was "Inshāʾ" (elegant style; d. 1818), was a major Urdu poet who wrote in a variety of genres. 1. Life Born in 1170/1757 in Murshīdābād, Bengal, he moved with his father, a doctor, to Delhi, where he produced his first collection of poems at the age of sixteen and burst like a meteor onto the literary scene.
