Samet Ağaoğlu (b. 1909 in Baku, Azerbaijan-d. 6 August 1982 in Istanbul) was a Turkish writer, historian, and politician. His father Ahmet Agayev Bey, later Ağaoğlu (d. 1939), was a well-educated Azerbaijani journalist and politician who, after the Young Turk revolution in 1908, emigrated with his family from Baku to Istanbul.
