Abū Yūsuf Yaʿqūb b. Yūsuf b. ʿAbd al-Muʾmin al-Manṣūr (r. 580-95/1184-99) was the third caliph of the Muʾminid Almohad dynasty. He was known as al-Manṣūr ("the Victorious") for his success in battle and his concentration on jihād in Iberia. Unlike his father, Abu Yaʿqūb Yūsuf, who often seemed more interested in books than in battles, Yaʿqūb al-Manṣūr was personally involved in many victories and in the expansion of Almohad power.
