Abdülmecid Firişteoğlu (ʿAbd al-Mecīd Firişteoghlu, d. after 864/1459-60) is known for his original works and translations on Ḥurūfism, and he played an important role in the spread of this mystical doctrine in Anatolia and Rumeli. His texts on Faḍlallāh Astarābādī's (d. 796/1394) teachings and doctrines were the earliest that appeared in Turkish, apart from Seyyid Nesimi's (d. 807?/1404-5?) Muqqaddimetü'l-Haqāyıq . He was born in Tire (in the district of Izmir, in present-day western Turkey), during the time of the Aydınoğulları
