SUMMARY OR ABSTRACT
Text of Note
This book accounts for the structural differences between 'non-creole' language varieties - such as African-American English - and their European source languages. John Holm argues that these differences resulted from 'partial restructuring', whereby some of the source languages' features were retained, but many features from the non-native speakers' language were also introduced.
