This book tells the story of the often painful process of Australia's integration into the international economy. Bob Catley traces the path of Australian economics from the time of Federation and the establishment of the dual economy, through its inevitable down-turn in the mid-1970s and to the current state of play as Australia struggles under the pressures of economic globalisation.
