SUMMARY OR ABSTRACT
Text of Note
OCHA's concise overview of "humanitarian indicators"-deaths, demolitions, health and education, land leveling, movement restrictions out of the Gaza Strip and internally, and the security of aid workers-covers the period from the beginning of the al-Aqsa intifada (September 2000) to the eve of Operation Days of Penitence (28 September-15 October 2004), during which 107 Palestinians were killed, 91 homes were demolished, and another 101 homes sustained damage). Omitted here for space considerations are sections on the Rafah terminal, isolated Palestinian communities, limitations on fishing, and the treatment of humanitarian workers.
