This novel juxtaposes the story of Yavuz Adin, a restless young Turkish basketball player who leaves his home to accept an athletic scholarship at a southwestern U.S. college, with that of Saleh Ashkivili, a troubled Georgian teenager whose anger leads him from his own home and into the ranks of a terrorist-militant group in Syria.
