SUMMARY OR ABSTRACT
Text of Note
The sodium pump of cell membranes fulfills essential excitatory demands of living cells, fuels the uptake of their nutritional substrates, and regulates their osmolarity and cell volume. This book presents the most current understanding of structure, mechanism, and hormonal control, as well as biological and medical significance of the sodium pump of cell membranes. It is addressed to biochemists, biophysicists, physiologists, pharmacologists, endocrinologists, and physicians interested in general aspects of the sodium pump, as well as to researchers with specific questions.
