SUMMARY OR ABSTRACT
Text of Note
At the pre-investment stage of an infrastructure project, it is necessary to establish the infrastructure's feasibility, both in monetary and non-monetary terms. Infrastructure here refers to building, road, bridges, dams, pipelines, railways, ports, seawalls, wastewater treatment facilities and similar, which form the backbone of society, but can also include any man-made asset. Non-monetary considerations are both social and environmental. Future demand and operating and maintenance costs for infrastructure are uncertain, lifetime and investment parameters are uncertain. The book provides the methodology by which the feasibility of infrastructure, or any man-made asset, may be appraised given future uncertainty, including that associated with climate change, and options to modify or adapt infrastructure.
