SUMMARY OR ABSTRACT
Text of Note
The Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP) film industry has played a significant role in our society for nearly 50 years. Generally, plastic products have proven very reliable, economical, and important within the medical, automotive, food and beverage industry, and many other areas of our society over glass, metals, and other substances. However, recently the North American BOPP industry has met with declining economic conditions. Given the small population of BOPP companies in North America (N = 10) and the universal concerns, new leadership strategies dealing with declining economic conditions and turnaround strategies may be necessary for corporate survival. Interviews were proposed with all 10 of the leading North American BOPP company leaders. Six (6) leaders confirmed their participation. The interviews were performed to gain insight into common views and opinions concerning the past, present and future business strategies for the industry.
