The way we think, conceptualize, and understand every single concept, affects our speech, reactions, and interactions. So, it would be fruitful to investigate the impact of our thoughts on language and interactions to form better communication and convey our real intentions more accessible through language. This study aims to show how metaphor can be related to style from a genre-analytical perspective on language use. In order to address the research questions of this study, metaphors of seven different concepts are gathered from the first novel of the Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer. Subsequently, they are analyzed according to Steen’s three-dimensional model for metaphors. The impact of metaphor is needed to be examined on the dimensions of discourse. For this purpose, metaphorical conceptualization, expression, and communication were scrutinized in the first novel of Twilight in terms of Gerard Steen’s 3-D model. The last section provides some exhaustive comments on the results of this analysis. The findings of the study have implications for foreign language teachers and foreign language learners. This study helps ELT instructors, build a better rapport in their classrooms. Moreover, helps ELT learners have a better cognitive processing, which in long term, leads to a better vocabulary acquisition.
نحوه تفکر، مفهوم سازی و درک هر یک از مفاهیم، بر گفتار، واکنش ها و تعاملات ما تأثیر می گذارد. بنابراین، بررسی تأثیر افکار ما بر زبان و تعاملات ، به منظور ایجاد ارتباط بهتر و انتقال مقاصد واقعی خود از طریق زبان مفید خواهد بود.هدف این مطالعه نشان دادن چگونگی ارتباط استعاره با سبک از دیدگاه تحلیلی ژانر در استفاده از زبان است. برای دستیابی به این هدف، استعاره های اعمال شده برای مفاهیم مختلف در اولین رمان سری گرگ و میش اثر استفانی مایر گردآوری شده است. در ادامه، آنها بر اساس مدل سه بعدی اشتین برای استعاره ها تحلیل می شوند. تأثیر استعاره باید در ابعاد گفتمان بررسی شود. برای این منظور مفهوم سازی استعاری، سپس بیان و در نهایت ارتباط در رمان اول گرگ و میش بر اساس مدل سه بعدی جرارد اشتین مورد بررسی دقیق قرار می گیرد. بخش آخر برخی از نظرات جامع را در مورد نتایج این تحلیل ارائه می دهد.
