This study inspects instances of certain linguistic variables to demonstrate either an intimate relationship or attachment with the audience or distancing as a detachment sign according to the style continuum under the scope of critical discourse analysis. Through analysis of linguistic variables making up levels of (in)formality, we can come closer to the core of political discoursive strategies, which can be recognized by arousing three Aristotelian persuasive modes: Ethos, Logos and Pathos. Therefore, it can be revealed that if the conveyed political messages have gained a cognitively- or emotionally-oriented acceptance. The present study made an effort to examine the already proposed linguistic variables in spoken discourse, including lexical choices, textual organization, intertextuality and supporting voices in a written discourse for establishing a relationship with the audience, adopting the theoretical framework maintained by Reyes in terms of linguistic variables and from the discipline of Rhetoric with the Aristotelian modes of persuasion. It is conducted along with the qualitative scheme. The results revealed lexical choices and supporting voices as the most and least frequently used elements. Findings of this study can have implications in expanding the discourse knowledge of the teacher educators and materials writers and syllabus designers.
این مطالعه، نمونه هایی از متغیرهای زبان شناختی خاص را برای نشان دادن رابطه ی صمیمانه با مخاطب و یا فاصله گیری از مخاطب به نشانه ی جدایی گزینی با توجه به پیوستار سبک، از منظر تحلیل کلام انتقادی در کتاب « اتاقی که در آن اتفاق افتاد » نوشته ی جان بولتون بررسی کرد. نتایج بیانگر این بود که از طریق تجزیه و تحلیل متغیرهای زبانی که سطوح (غیر)رسمی بودن را تشکیل می دهند می توانیم به سلسله استراتژی های گفتمانی سیاسی دست یابیم که با برانگیختن سه حالت ترغیب ارسطویی شامل عاطفه، عرف و عقل قابل تشخیص هستند. بنابراین می توان نشان داد که پیام های سیاسی منتقل شده به صورت شناختی و یا احساسی از جانب مخاطب پذیرفته شده اند. در مطالعه ی حاضر متغیر های زبان شناختی جهت ایجاد ارتباط و حفظ فاصله با مخاطب در کلام مکتوب ژانر سیاسی شناسایی و طبقه بندی شده اند. بررسی دقیق نمونه ها، میزان کاربرد انتخاب واژگان، سازماندهی متن، بینامتنی و گفته های تاییدی را مشخص نموده و نهایتا، انتخاب واژگان با بیشترین کاربرد و گفته های تاییدی با کمترین کاربرد معرفی گردیدند. یافته های این تحقیق می تواند کاربرد های عملی برای اهداف آموزشی و هم چنین گسترش فهم موضوعات مربوط به مباحثه توسط تربیت مدرسان، نویسندگان و ناشران داشته باشد.
