By making different types of WCF clear to the teachers, there will be the opportunity for the teachers to be justified on the types of WCF and their efficacy in correcting different error types-observational research, a mixed method was used in the present study. To investigate the frequency of use of different types of WCF by teachers, a manual calculation was applied to examine the frequencies and percentages of use of WCF types. To examine the teachers perceptions, a survey study was conducted and their perceptions were analyzed in relation to their practices by using a questionnaire. The results demonstrated that direct WCF was the most frequently used type by the teachers and metalinguistic WCF (the location of errors not identified) and focused WCF as the least frequent types used by the teachers. The teachers stated perceptions of WCF types in relation to their real practices also signified great similarities as well as disparities. In fact the results made clear that there is a cost for each decision of the teachers in using different types of WCF. The findings of the present study can lead the teachers to have a better understanding of different types of WCF and have a conscious awareness of the types that can be used in correcting different errors in written contexts. Additionally the findings of the study might be useful for the teacher trainers who are in charge of training would-Daneshgahi, Goldis and Chekad were selected as the participants. Two series of written assignments were collected from the students of each teacher as the data. As a descriptive-This study aimed at investigating the frequency of the Written Corrective Feedback types used by Iranian EFL teachers. It was also attempted to investigate their perceptions in relation to their own practices. Twelve teachers, consisting of six male and six female, from three language institutes of Jahad.
