.and also Ahriman forces like Dive, J?dou (magic) and Pari and manner of their reflection in Sh?hn?meh , and even in some cases, reflection of some religious believes in national epic poem is completely different from its origin in ancient texts. Say, N?hid is the Ar?dvisur?-an?hit? in Avest?, was the goddess of abundance and fertility has been used as "Venus" in all records of Sh?hn?meh. In this thesis common parts, difference and changes of traditions and contents of Sh?hn?meh has shown comparing with its Avest? origin and Pahlavi sources. Generally, mannur of Iranian ancient believes and thoughts in Iranian national epic poem have comparatively analyzed ۵,AbstractThis thesis under title "Avest? and Iran national Epic" is an effort about reflection of some of customs, religious belives, my thological and epical traditions of Avest? in Sh?hn?meh for surveying and introducing the roots of subject matters and stories of Sh?hn?meh through comparing its contents with Iranian encient texts belonging to the pre-Islam era.This thesis is composed of three parts under titles: mythological and epical traditions, customs and religious belives. Although, Avest? referred as an encient source of the begining, preceding Avest? and different parts of recent Avest? were not the only used sources, but because of expanded existence of some of indications, mythological, epical and religious traditions in middlepersian books, some of important Pahlavi books has been referred for complementation of our subject.Centrality of the discussions in each parts of the thesis is follows:In mythological and epical traditions part, contents of Sh?hn?meh have mentioned which is about actions and conditions of the kings of two fabulous dynasties, Pishdadi?n and Ki?ni?n, and also traditions in national epic poem about some of heros have relation with the court of the kings, have been compared with Avest? and Pahlavi texts. In this part, traditions about Iranian enemies like Afr?sy?b and Garsivaz have been mentioned and efforts have been made to know the records and origin of the traditions of Sh?hn?meh by referring to preceding texts and manner of changes including their increase or decrease in national epic poem and also changes of content which has been seen in some stories or their conformity with the traditions of pre-Islam era shown while referring to the testimonies. Also, important and noticeable subjects about persons belonging to Indian and Iranian mythologies and their actions which have been referred in India religious book, Rig Ved?, have included considering the works of researchers have done researches in this regars.Each character has been surveyed considering race (Iranian, non-Iranian), Social status (King, hero, ordinary person from amony people) and their role in important events.The second part of this thesis under title "customs" is a research about some of current ceremonies in encient times which have religious roots and have somehow been reflected among the stories of Sh?hn?meh, such as fire and its related ceremonies, manner of execution of related ceremonies in fire temples, prayer ceremonies and its equipment, oath, Grypt, Ceremonies about dead and other religious ceremonies which have been compared with ancient texts, through their studying we can understand some of religious believes of Iranian in past time and philosophy of their existence in Islamic era.Third part is dedicated to the reflection of some of religious believes in national epic poems, considering the existence of two good and evil elements and their permenant quarrel in Zoroastrian custom and the placint (settling) of Izad?n versus Div?n, the main part of this section is dedicated to discussion about famous Izad?n of the said custom such as Ahur?mazd?, Mehr, N?hid, Sorou?h
