رودخانه یکی از عناصر اصلی کره ی زمین است که همواره در پیدایش،تکامل و توسعه تمدن ها و جوامع بشری نقش قابل توجهی داشته است بطوریکه نه تنها در سیمای کلی زمین نقش دارند بلکه شکل زیستن انسان در کره ی زمین را تعیین می کنند.اکثر این رودخانه ها با گسترش رشد و توسعه ی شهر،هم اکنون جزئی از شهر شده اند و به عنوان ساختار های طبیعی درون شهری نقش بارزی پیدا کرده اند و می توانند فضای مناسبی را برای تعاملات اجتماعی و خلوت و تنهایی بوجود آورند.در قرن اخیر در جهان توجه زیادی به این گونه فضاها شده است و سعی شده علاوه بر حفظ بسترمعمول رودخانه ،اراضی حاشیه ی آن نیز ساماندهی شود.در صورت عدم ساماندهی رودخانه های شهری مواردی چون:برهم خوردن تعادل اکولوژیکی،تجاوز به حریم و همینطور بروز مشکلات زیست محیطی را شاهد خواهیم بود .نمونه مورد مطالعه ی این تحقیق مربوط است به ساماندهی محور مسیل قوبی چای با رویکرد تجاری و تفریحی واقع در شهر بناب و با هدف تبدیل آن به فضایی دلچسب و آرام برای شهروندان جهت گذران اوقات فراغت.این مسیل درون شهری نشات گرفته از رود پر آب صوفی چای می باشد و تاریخی به موازات صوفی چای را دارا می باشد. سرچشمه ی این مسیل از دامنه های کوه سهند است که با آب شدن برف های دایمی و سنگین کوهستان به ویژه دره بامیدز ، این مسیل آبگیری می شود.طول مسیل قوبی چای بالغ بر بیست کیلومتر است که در حدود هفت کیلومتر آن از داخل شهر بناب عبور می کند و در مسیر خود باغ های این شهر را آبیاری می کند بنابراین از این حیث دارای پتانسیلی قوی برای ایجاد مکان تفریحی محسوب می شود به خصوص قرار گیری محلات شهرک امام و کوی فرهنگیان این در امتداد مسیل،این ویژگی را بارز تر کرده است.متاسفانه مشکلی که در طی سال های اخیر گریبانگیر مسیل قوبی چای بوده ورود فاضلاب ها و زباله های خانگی به این رودخانه بوده است که منجر به ایجاد مشکلات زیست محیطی و بهداشتی فراوانی برای ساکنین شده ولی اخیرا با تاسیس کارخانه بازیافت زباله این مشکل تا حدی برطرف شده و در حدود پنج کیلومتر از این مسیل ساماندهی شده است و در حدود نهصد متر از آن نیز نرده کشی گردیده است.آنچه که در این پژوهش درصدد پاسخ گویی به آن هستیم: شناسایی قابلیتها و پتانسیل های قوبی چای جهت زیباسازی و گسترش اماکن تفریحی و دیگری شناسایی موانع موجود بر سر راه ساماندهی مسیل بارویکرد تجاری و تفریحی می باشد.در طی تحقیق از وضع موجودشهربناب به این نتیجه رسیدیم که میزان سرانه فضای سبز موجود در حال حاضروسرانه فضاهای گردشگری و تفریحی،جوابگوی جمعیت در حال حاضر و جمعیت درحال رشد)نسل آینده (نخواهد بود از طرفی دیگر با وجود کافی بودن سرانه فضاهای تجاری،به دلیل پراکنده بودن این فضاها و عدم وجود بازارهای محله ای این میزان سطوح فضای تجاری پاسخ گوی مردم شهر بناب نیست.حال آنکه در طی پژوهش برفضای پیرامون مسیل قوبی چای چنین نتیجه گرفته شد که مسیل قوبی چای دارای فضای کافی،دسترسی خوب،مرکزیت عالی،شیب کافی و موقعیت شهری مناسب می باشد ومیتوان از این پتانسیل ها در طرح های عمرانی شهر و در جهت زیباسازی شهری استفاده کرد.
