This thesis discusses the relationship between Colorado, African-American Muslims, and an Islamic extremist organization named Jamaat ul-Fuqra. Ul-Fuqra is a Pakistani based extremist organization founded by a man named Sheikh Gilani with significant ties to African-America Muslims and terrorist activity in the United States-particularly during the 1980s-1990s. This thesis ultimately argues that Sheikh Gilani chose to expand Jamaat Ul-Fuqra's terrorist activities to the United States, and particularly, Colorado, in order to carry out its ideology of attacking the organizations perceived enemies as well as maintain a source of financing.
