The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of scientific stories on academic achievement, understanding the nature of science and writing anxiety of primary school students. For this purpose, the lesson plans prepared according to 5E were supported with "Scientific Story Writing Activities." The study group consisted of 30 students studying at a public school in Beyoğlu, Istanbul. In the quantitative dimension of the research, pre-test and post-test research design with quasi-experimental control group was used and in case of qualitative dimension, case study was used. The data of the study were obtained from two stages, qualitative and quantitative. Research using quantitative data from the letarature, Çoban and Ergin's (2008) nature of the scale and the writing anxiety of Karakaya and Ülper (2011) scale and the academic headache test prepared by the investigator. Question were collected. In order to compare the effectiveness of the applied methods, the academic achievement test, writing anxiety scale and understanding nature of science scale were applied to the experimental and control group students in the pre and post test and the correlation was calculated between them. The questions in the interview form were applied as a post-test only to the students in the experimental group. The stories written by the students in the experimental group after the application were analyzed with Yazma Story Writing Skills Evaluation Rubric '. The descriptive statistics were used for the total scores obtained from the academic achievement test and the scales and the normality of the distribution was tested with the help of skewness and kurtosis coefficients to decide which hypothesis test to use. As the distributions were normal, independent sample t-test was used to look at the difference between the experimental and control groups, and dependent sample t test was used to look at the difference between the pre-test and post-test when investigating the effect of the application. The stories written by the students were analyzed by the researcher and their effect on the academic achievement of the students was revealed. According to all findings, scientific story writing activities; students' academic achievement generally affects positively; It has been found that there is no statistically significant effect on understanding the nature of science and writing anxiety.
