This thesis contains three chapters. In Chapters One and Two, we report the synthesis of new pyrazole derivatives by using naphthalene-derived and coumarin-derived aldehydes. We have synthesized 61 different pyrazole derivatives in good yield. In the third chapter, a new methodology to synthesize thiazole derivatives is reported. In this methodology, the reaction was performed without column purification and work-up. Readily available starting materials were used with mild reaction conditions. Acetic acid was used as a solvent in this reaction to synthesize 34 new compounds. All these compounds were characterized by using NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry. These compounds were tested against several bacterial strains and some of these compounds showed promising results.
