Special education practitioners should practice in a manner that is ethical, professional, and evidence-based. As such, professionals should ensure that their practices are evidence-based. In this study, the researcher seeks to promote an evidence-based approach to understanding the differences between general and special education teachers. The researcher will focus on teachers' perceptions as well as familiarity with policies and national guidelines, factors affecting, and eligibility, criteria, or reasons for referral of twice-exceptional, gifted, and special education students.
