Machine Gun Blues is a collection of oil paintings and graphite drawings that investigate the emotional landscape of post-traumatic stress disorder linked to memory and nostalgia. Through the use of photographs I took or was within the immediate vicinity of during combat operations in Iraq from May 2007-June 2008, including my vivid memories, I've developed a series of artworks that convey moments of my experience as an Army Infantry soldier. This Thesis Exhibition, Machine Gun Blues, was held between April 25th and May 4th, 2018 in the University Gallery in the School of Art and Design at San Diego State University.
