Shaykh ʿAdī b. Musāfir al-Hakkārī (d. c.557/1162) was an Arab ascetic of Umayyad descent who settled in the Kurdish mountains of Iraq around 505/1111, founded the ʿAdawiyya ṭarīqa (Ṣūfī order, lit.
