ʿAbbās al-Mūsawī (1952-92) was one of the founders of Ḥizballāh (Hezbollah) in Lebanon in 1982 and its second secretary general, from 1991 until his assassination by Israeli agents, in South Lebanon, in February 1992. Al-Mūsawī was born in 1952 to a secular family in the village of al-Nabī Shayth in the Bekaa (Biqāʿ) Valley in Lebanon.
