Abū l-Ḥasan ʿAlī b. Muʾmin al-Ḥaḍramī al-Ishbīlī (597-669/1200-70), called Ibn ʿUṣfūr , was a famous Andalusī grammarian. He was born in Seville, where he grew up and studied under Abū ʿAlī ʿUmar b. Muḥammad al-Shalawbīn (d. 645/1247) and Abū l-Ḥasan ʿAlī b. Jābir al-Dabbāj (d. 646/1248), the best grammarians of their time.
