Sunan Giri , later known as Panĕmbahan Giri , was one of the wali sanga (the Nine Saints), the semi-legendary initial propagators of Islam in Java, and the only one followed by a line of successors. Like the history of all the wali sanga , that of the spiritual lords of Giri is clouded in myth.
