Boabdil (Abū ʿAbdallāh Muḥammad b. ʿAlī, b. 866/1461-2, d. 940/1533-4) was born in Granada, the eldest son of Abū l-Ḥasan ʿAlī, who reigned before him, under the name Muley Hacén. Boabdil, a variant of the name Abū ʿAbdallāh in the Arabic dialect of Granada, was the last sultan of the Naṣrid dynasty, using the title Muḥammad XII (or XI, according to certain authors).
