Anas b. Mālik (d. 93/712) was allegedly the last of the Companions of the Prophet to die in Basra. His lifespan is recorded as having bridged almost the entire first/seventh century. Ten years old at the time of the Hijra, he is said to have died in 93/712 at the age of 103 (lunar) years. He had a mansion ( qaṣr ) in Basra (cf.
