Abū ʿUmar Muḥammad b. Yūsuf b. Yaʿqūb al-Kindī al-Tujībī (d. 350/961) was an Egyptian historian and the author of a book on the governors of Egypt up until 334/946 and another on the judges of al-Fusṭāṭ up until 270/884. He was born on 10 Dhū l-Ḥijja 283/17 January 897 into the Tujīb clan (part of the Kinda tribe and the Sakūn subtribe), one of the numerous groups originating in southern Arabia who settled in al-Fusṭāṭ, the capital of the Egyptian province,
