ʿAlam al-Dīn Abū Muḥammad al-Qāsim (Ibn) al-Birzālī (665-739/1267-1339), son of Bahāʾ al-Dīn Muḥammad b. Zakī al-Dīn Yūsuf b. Zakī al-Dīn Muḥammad b.Yaddās al-Shāfiʿī, was a Syrian historian and ḥadīth scholar. He was born in Damascus (GAL 2:36; GALS 2:34 wrongly indicates Seville) and died in Khulayṣ, between Mecca and Medina, while on a pilgrimage.
