Al-Aqṣā mosque (al-masjid al-Aqṣā) is located on the western side of the south end of al-Ḥaram al-Sharīf in Jerusalem. In its present form the hypostyle mosque comprises a prayer hall with seven aisles arranged perpendicular to the qibla wall (the south wall) and a portico to the north.
