Aka Gündüz (1885-1958) was a Turkish writer, journalist, and politician who was born in Alasonya (Elassona), in present-day Greece. His real name was Hüseyin Avni (Ḥüseyin ʿAvnī), and he adopted the family name Finci in 1935, but he used a number of noms de plume, such as Aka (Aqa) Gündüz (under which he gained fame) and Enis Safvet (Enīs Ṣafvet).
