Ahmed Paşa (Aḥmad Pasha, d. 1160/1747) served as the governor of the Ottoman eyalet ( eyālet , province) of Baghdad from 1136/1724 until 1160/1147, except for about one year, circa 1147/1734-5. He was the son of the previous governor, Hasan (Ḥassān) Paşa (1116-36/1704-24). Ahmed Paşa was born in Istanbul. Although he had no formal education, he advanced in his career on the merits of his character and intelligence. In 1127/1715, he was appointed governor of Şehrizor (Shahrizūr, in northern Iraq), and he became
