In this thesis, the story books of Cevat Sakir Kabaagacli who is known as the the Fisherman of Halicarnassus are examined. The stories are evaluated by classifying thematically. In this research, the stories of The Fisherman of Halicarnassus are interpreted within the art and world view of the author. In this work, four different story book of the author is examined. The stories are examined under the themes of sea, love, death and life. It is tried to determine the enriching factors of the stories of the author who has interest for history, mythology, sea and sea life. In this work, it is seen that The Fisherman of Halicarnassus, contributed to Anatolian Culture and Republican period of Turkish Literature significantly. The author is one of the pioneers in Turkish Literature with his detailed expressions about sea and the people who provide their livelihood from sea. It is seen that The Fisherman of Halicarnassus used the language with a poetic style and wrote his stories with an opinion which is embracing for humanity. In our work, it is tried to determine the place and the importance of the author in Turkish storytelling by examining the stories of The Fisherman of Halicarnassus thematically.
