This season's crop of cartoon books is small compared with the last few seasons. The market went on the skids some time ago, but there will always be a small and steady demand around the holidays. The Carl Rose collection, of 115 drawings chosen from a ten year output, plus a text that is as entertaining as the drawings, should give you what you need to meet that demand. On looking through the volume, one recognizes some classics of the cartoon world-remembered but in many cases not identified with Carl Rose. --KIRKUS REVIEW.
