This tutorial shows educators with basic PowerPoint skills how to use PowerPoint's built-in companion, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), to create multimedia material. Focusing on scripting rather than programming, the book begins with an overview of the multimedia design process, then reviews traditional and multimedia features of PowerPoint, and explains basic through advanced VBA concepts related to scripting. Instructions are given for using VBA and PowerPoint to create quizzes and tests. One entire chapter offers debugging tips. With its step-by-step instructions, b&w screenshots, and code, the book can be used by individuals or in a multimedia design class for educators. This second edition contains two new chapters. Examples now reflect the features (and bugs!) of PowerPoint 2007 and PowerPoint 2010 for Windows, and PowerPoint 2011 for Macintosh.
