Fundamental chapters on the physics and perception of sound precede those on noise reduction methods. The last chapter deals with microphones and loudspeakers. Specific measurement procedures are discussed throughout the book. Not more than the usual mathematical skills such as calculus are required . The appendix gives a short introduction on the use of complex amplitudes in acoustics.
